50 Cent Reveals Why He Cut Ties with Omari Hardwick (Ghost)

50 Cent has finally opened up about his fallout with Omari Hardwick, best known for his role as “Ghost” in the hit TV series Power. During a recent interview, 50 Cent candidly discussed the reasons behind their separation, shedding light on the dynamics between them and the tensions that ultimately led to Hardwick’s departure.

50 Cent wasted no time in addressing the speculation, explaining that Hardwick’s frustrations stemmed from feeling underpaid and undervalued.

“After the show blew up, he felt like he should have been paid more,” 50 Cent revealed. “He started to feel like he was the face of the entire network. I get it – sometimes when people experience success for the first time, they want it to feel like it’s all theirs. But in reality, a show like Power is a collective effort. No one person is responsible for everything.”

50 Cent went on to explain his pivotal role in Power‘s success, emphasizing that his contributions extended far beyond acting. “Without me there to do the marketing, perform the theme song, and push the show the way I did, it wouldn’t have taken off the same way. I was also part of the process in getting the show picked up and hiring the actors.”

One of the most surprising revelations from the interview was 50 Cent’s claim that he personally provided financial support to Hardwick during tough times.

“At certain points, when he wasn’t in a good financial space, I gave him money. The rest of the company didn’t do that – I did. And I wasn’t making millions per episode either. I was only getting $177,000 per episode, but I still gave him money out of my pocket.”

Despite his generosity, tensions continued to mount as Hardwick felt he wasn’t being compensated fairly. “When he said he wasn’t paid enough, people immediately assumed it was my fault,” 50 Cent explained. “In hip-hop culture, I’m the face they recognize, so they thought I wasn’t paying him. But that wasn’t the case at all.”

While 50 Cent maintained that the split was ultimately a business decision, his reflections on the situation suggest there was a deeper personal disappointment in how things unfolded.

“At the end of the day, I was there for him, but sometimes people lose sight of the bigger picture. I’m always going to move forward – that’s just how I operate.”

Although Power has continued to thrive with multiple spin-offs and new characters, the departure of Omari Hardwick as Ghost marked the end of an era. Nevertheless, 50 Cent’s comments provide an inside look at the complexities behind the scenes and the challenges that come with managing relationships in the entertainment industry.
